How To Draw For Threading

I wanted to see what is the suggested protocol for preparing drawings for threading.

Do I draw a circle and create hole in part though or to blind dimension using minor dimension?

Some CAD tools will visibly display the threading but most will not. I am assuming that in my CAM package I can then specify thread specs on the circle I drew on the part in CAD.
