I have a new PM 85 with a mechanized torch set up on a 4 x 8 table with
thc from Tom at CandCNC.
When I run a cut profile, say 45 amps on the plasma and the cut profile is set at 45 amps, the actual reading on the screen shows 2 to 3 amps higher than the machine is set for.
My question is weather this is causing the THC to be a problem. I can cut 10 ga. steel with THC holding steady at .06 cut height but on then go to the other end of the table and the readings jump up as if the voltage is going up but the volts are reading exactly as per the manual with only 1 volt difference. The torch is raising according to the DRO, but still seems to cut nicely. The DRO will go up to .1150 at times.
Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?
Thanks
GG
