I'm fairly new to CNC technology. I recently equipped my workshop with a Laguna Tools IQ HHC CNC machine and support it with Rhino/Rhino CAM. For the amount of exposure I've had with this technology, I'm doing fairly well turning out lots of jigs/forms to support my guitar making. However, I believe the work product I'm turning out can improve. Specifically, I'm getting a bit of tear-out on tool entry exit into the material (mostly 3/4" birch plywood), as well as some burn marks. My cutter bits are also bluing, which suggests that my feeds and speeds are not correct. Can anyone suggest some good reference sources for recommended feeds and speeds and tool path entry angles for various materials? I want to get a handle on this stuff before I start trying to produce any instrument parts.
Thanks,
Chuck
