Hi all,
I would like to know how strong my designed gears will be. Is there anyone who can help me out with these calculations?
It will be a 18tooth involute (evolvent) gear in module 4. The tooth surface will be 40mm deep (or 50mm if needed) and it will be produced from Toolox 44 (1450Nm tensile strength). The pressure angle is 20drgs.
It will be connected to a 22tooth gear idler, which will be connected to a 27 tooth driven gear.
Is there any way of calculating the strength of the gears? Or are there more variables needed?
Other values that I got from the manufacterer are:
44hrc (for heat treatment?)
roughness is about 1,4 Ra
Thanks in advance!
