Just bought a 1.5kW spindle and Huanyang VFD. When wiring it I found the #4 pin on the motor is open. The seller says the ground is not needed. However, when running the motor I measure up to 120VAC between the motor case and ground which is not insignificant. Presumably this is induction current since the motor leads show no continuity to the case. Has anyone else had this problem? The warranty will be invalid if I open the motor to connect the pin but connecting the ground to the plug shell appears cheesy to me.
