New to SprutCam - Need some guidance

Hi all,

I downloaded and installed a demo version of SprutCam. I've been using 2.5d software for some time now, and have that down to a science. However, I'm getting irritated creating a nice 3d model in Alibre, then having to dumb it down to 2d, export it as dxf, then import it into my 2.5d cadcam software.

I really want to start doing some 3d programming and some 4th axis work. That being said, I've started playing with SprutCam on the 30 day eval. I'm really liking it. It seems really powerful, but the terminology is SO different, I'm getting confused.

Can someone give me some good suggestions on the best way to learn this software? I followed thru the tutorials on the main page, and the tutorial went smoothly, but there wasn't any explanation of why the various settings were chosen. Just enter this here here and here, then do this and click this. I don't get an understanding of a program by being told exactly what to do, rather I get an understand but someone explaining WHY I do what I'm being told to do.
