I have a problem and it's not BobCad's fault. I am machining one side of a part, flipping it over and machining the other side. My problem is that the second machining step is off by .025", in the Y axis. I have checked the g code and it is correct for the location of the features on the part. I can't say when this problem started as I usually do not do parts that have features on both sides of a part. I have tried indexing the part with only .25" of the part in the vise jaws and I have tried with the part buried in the vise jaws, results are the same. I have cut two parts and the problem is in both parts, I don't feel that I'm loosing steps, if I did the error would be different between the parts. Machine is a BP Boss 5, stepper motors, running FlashCut. .500 2 flute end mill, DOC .100", feedrate 10 IPM, 2500 RPM. Using the fixed jaw of the vise and a stop to locate the parts. I just trammed my mill and I don't use backlash comp. Any ideas would be helpful, I think it's time for a cold one.
