Geckodrives are on holiday leave. Understandable.
I have a brand new Gecko G540 and Keling KL-350-48 Power Supply with Mach3 (Latest version)
I have read everything I could get my hands on from the net for the past 3 days regarding Gecko and it's fault light clearing.
These are the things I've tried thus far:
I've checked the cable pin for pin and all 25 pins are a match.
I've downloaded and tried the 540B.xml. Still Fails
I've downloaded and tried the 540BVFD.xml. Still Fails
I've installed another parallel port (LPT2) and made changes to all the ports in the Config Ports & Pins to reflect Port #2. Still Fails
I changed the BIOS to show EPP+ECP as well as "Bi-Directional" since one site says EPP+ECP is okay and another states a "Send&Receive" mode is okay. Still Fails
I've tried changing things to Active Low, but then Mach3 complains and asks if I want to let it auto configure the Pins. Tried that too and it still fails.
I've even connected an RS232 Check/Tester between the cable and the Parallel Port inlet on the Gecko and the only LED that's on is #11.
I've manually switched the Charge Pump off at the front of the Gecko and the Power Light then goes Green.
I've verified that the Charge Pump on in EStop is checked.
The E-Stop is a normally closed switch and breaks circuit when pressed.
What I have connected is as follows:
One wire coming from Pin #10 to one side of the E-Stop button.
One wire coming from the E-Stop button to V- on the PS.
One wire coming from Pin #12 to the V- on the PS.
One wire coming from Pin #11 to the V+ on the PS.
That's all I have connected. Power to the Gecko, loop for E-Stop and the 25-pin cable. No Motors yet.
When I power up the PS, the red fault light on the Gecko stays on.
I really don't want to install everything on another PC just to get this up and running. I'm off work too and really need to get this up and running if possible.
I've exhausted every means I can think of to get it to work other than another PC.
Any help or insight would be most appreciated.
PM me and I'll give you a call if you've got some ideas and are willing to help.

PS Do I have to have the PC on and Mach3 up and running for the fault light to clear, i.e., can I just power the Gecko from the Power Supply and expect it to "not" have a fault?
